Jennifer (Yihan) Gan
Multimedia journalist and video producer with a strong background in broadcast storytelling. She has worked on communications teams at nonprofit organizations, where she developed social media campaigns, designed branded visuals, and crafted newsletters to help amplify the voices of underrepresented rural communities. In her home country of China, she worked at national broadcasters including China Central Television (CCTV) and China Global Television Network (CGTN), reporting on stories that spanned global affairs, arts, and education. Her work included pitching, scripting, and editing broadcast segments and digital videos, including TikTok content tailored to younger audiences.
She holds a dual degree in Journalism and Psychology from Boston University. She is currently completing her master’s at Columbia Journalism School, with a focus on local stories, political reporting, data visualization, and multimedia production.
She is skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Photoshop, and other digital tools. She is passionate about using video and visual storytelling to inform, engage, and connect diverse audiences across platforms.
